Like all of our lives mine is full of all kinds of things, a little of this and a little of that!

On weekends I thought I’d share bits and pieces of our life, things we like to do, places we go…all the Dr. Seuss kinds of things!

I might throw a tutorial in now and then on some of my craft projects, talk about home-school stuff, my family or the never ending renovation that we’re going to be in the middle of for quite some time!

Today I thought I’d give you a little into our world this week. Last night my girls and I had a girls-night-in. I can’t say I was too excited earlier in the day due to the fact that the hormone monster was gobbling up all my ‘nice mommy’ feelings. However, by the time we got our supplies and got home and Lizzy went and talked her big sister into hanging out with us I was way more up for the evening. We played Settlers of Catan, laughed until we cried, used terrible Southern accents and then made faces on our cupcakes. We had a lot of fun!

As part of a healthier me I am trying to make time for some things I love to do. I LOVE fabric, quilting and sewing are necessary for my mental health – we call it fabric therapy, sometimes just standing in a fabric store or going through my ‘stash’ does wonder for my state of being. Amy Gibson is one of my favourite quilt instructors/designers and bloggers. She is a lovely lady and runs the Sugar Block Club. I got the first installment this week and actually sat down and did it right away! Such fun. It is free BTW, here is the link to head over there and check it out. About 18 years ago I started a ‘beginner’ quilt called Moonglow. It is NOT, I repeat NOT a beginner quilt. I found the bits and pieces and patterns that I had tried before I gave up on it and decided to give it another go. After 18 years of quilting I should have improved at least a little! What do you know, I have! So I sewed up a couple of those and then took myself over to a local quilt store to get some extra fabric to sew up the rest of them. I’m kind of excited to finish it now. You see, I’m determined to finish some of the unfinished things that I’ve got hanging around here.

I’ve been spending lots of time in my sweet little office creative space. In here I spend my time In the Word, do writing exercises and work in my planner. Of course I sew in here, too. At some point I’m going to try scrapbooking in here, too. This Christmas I was gifted with a couple of beautiful coloring books – I did some of that in my creative space, too.

So there you have it, just a little of this and that! What have you been up to this week?
