The End of Things (resources)

Here we are at the end of this series. Thank you for coming with me on this journey.

For some reading this has been a starting point and for others it is part of a continuation.

I want to close this out by giving you some resources that I, or others, have found helpful in their journey. It is definitely not an exhaustive list but will hopefully get you started.

Books:

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbough (this is a novel but gives a good look into the issues of attachment and the subsequent problems that might arise from childhood trauma)

Hold on to Your Kids by Gordon Neufeld and Gabor Mate

Relinquished: When Love Means Letting Go by Carrie O’Toole

Websites:

www.neufeldinstitute.com (deals with a variety of topics related to attachment, discipline and transplanted children)

www.attachment.org (Nancy Thomas ministries – links to camps and other helpful resources)

www.coultervideo.com (Dan Coulter – particularly for Aspergers)

www.carrieotoole.com (particularly for RAD)

Organizations:

Empowering Attachment

Autism Services

Blogs:

Special Needs Parenting – www.specialneedsparenting.net (this blog has many contributors, some for hidden disabilities and some for visible disabilities)

Life in the Aspie Lane – www.lifeintheaspielane.wordpress.com (one mom’s journey with autism)

There are MANY more resources out there. Some I could not list because they are no longer available.

I would love to have your feedback on this series and any suggestions or experiences you may have to add would be wonderful to consider.

Thanks again for journeying with me!

About Lani

With six kids, a farm, a ministry and dreams poking out in every direction I need plenty of grace to keep all the balls in the air. The sweet thing is that when I drop them, that crazy grace of God is there telling me I'm still okay...and you are, too...welcome to this place of grace.
