Sandra Orchard’s new book Deadly Devotion‘s plot line is focused on tea, truth and it’s set in Canada AND it’s a mystery – what’s not to like!!? I can’t help but endorse a fellow Canadian, however, you’ll want to grab a copy of the book for some great pool-side reading this summer!
Kate Adams is grief-stricken by the death of her friend/mentor/co-worker. She demands that the police do more digging because she is convinced that her friend’s faith wouldn’t have allowed her to commit suicide. When the detective, Tom Parker, is told not to re-open the case, he eventually gets suspicious, too. Between the two of the them they dig up more questions than answers and maybe a wee bit of attraction. But then you have to throw in a ‘nephew’ who has a girlfriend that doesn’t add up and some covert operations and you get a lot of action going on that you have to be wide-awake to keep up with.
I love a good mystery that keeps me guessing until the end and Sandra Orchard delivers. There are great sub-plots that focus on various aspects of relationships that are also read-worthy. I really enjoyed this page-turner and I really don’t want to say much more because I might give something away!! Waiting for book 2…
