Behind the Scenes: Beauty and the Beast

DSC01054

Crystal started this link party today and I had to jump on board. This picture is my new living room wall which I LOVE!!  But this link party is about what you DON”T see.  Crystal’s goal is for us to just get real!  None of live perfect Pinterest lives.

We redid this wall because it was full of divets and holes and well…it needed some TLC, it’s the Beast that became a Beauty.  Now if you could get the panoramic 360 of this room you would see that behind the couches there are stacks of homeschool material that needs to be sorted and sold (Beast).  You would see the chair that needs a new slip cover (Beast).  You would see the piles of decorating items that I DIDN’t use (Beast).  Yup, I have one redeemed wall (Beauty) and the rest is a bit of a mess…two weeks later!!

But I am so thankful for this one place of reprieve!! (Beauty)

I am linked up at Crystal’s, you can click on the button to go over to find some other Behind the Scenes stories!! 🙂

About Lani

With six kids, a farm, a ministry and dreams poking out in every direction I need plenty of grace to keep all the balls in the air. The sweet thing is that when I drop them, that crazy grace of God is there telling me I'm still okay...and you are, too...welcome to this place of grace.

LOVE that family photo and the whole wall. Thanks for reminding us that you can’t capture the whole story of our real lives in one photo. 🙂

I LOVE your wall and you’re not the only one with beastly piles lurking around the house ;). Now that my nest is empty, the beast piles are fewer, but I’m guilty of having a few!

    • Lani June 4, 2013 at 10:19 pm #

So are you telling me that the piles aren’t going to go away when the kids do!!? I think maybe I knew that. Thanks so much for coming by!

one beast at a time! Oh and I’m with Anita on this one- they don’t go away in fact- i got more when my MIL went into assisted living, and more when both the mothers passed away 5 years ago- now I’m trying to get my head around developing scrapbooks with family history in them.

      I guess it’s a good thing I have a big house then?
