About Lani

With six kids, a farm, a ministry and dreams poking out in every direction I need plenty of grace to keep all the balls in the air. The sweet thing is that when I drop them, that crazy grace of God is there telling me I'm still okay...and you are, too...welcome to this place of grace.

The Next Thing

Two images come to mind when I think about wilderness. Dessert. Wide open vistas of nothingness. Dull, wind-whipped colors. Lifeless and void. No edges anywhere just the vast expanse of sand in all directions. The other is a forested mountainside where no light has reached the earth for decades and no human foot has crushed […]

That Book Goal: {October}

  Volleyball season October is over. I had two kids playing volleyball this year. It’s been a long time since I have been a volleyball mom and I am glad to be court side once again. Volleyball is warm and indoors, this is a great thing for a warmth-loving┬áperson such as myself! However, volleyball season […]

That Book Goal: July

In the midst of the craziness of July, you might have thought that I wouldn’t have had time for reading, but you would be wrong! There were plenty of hours spent in vehicles and airplanes when traveling that I could either listen to a book or read one. For one week we were at family […]

The Day of Small Beginnings

I am sitting in the one place that I can rest in my chaotic house. We just moved in so things are piled high and deep. I don’t have a bedroom yet, the carpet that is supposed to go in is waiting for someone stronger and more knowledgeable to do that job. That person has […]

One Dominion: Celebrating Canada, Prepared for a Purpose {review}

Canada Day is sneaking up on me! We’ve had such a whirlwind of events that I almost forgot it was just about here. I think I have sufficient reason to be a little scatterbrained right now. I can’t wait to post about my son’s wedding, my daughter’s graduation and all the other fun things we’ve […]
