90 Minutes in Heaven {a review}

The good people at Graf-Martin Communications sent me to the movies the other day!

I hadn’t heard of ’90 Minutes in Heaven’ but my husband had read the book and was quite excited to accompany me.

90 Minutes in Heaven is the New York Times bestseller and inspiring true story of Don Piper’s death, time in heaven and return to life that included years of intensely painful recuperation. It released in theatres across Canada on September 11, 2015 and stars STAR WARS’ Hayden Christensen and SUPERMAN RETURNS’ Kate Bosworth.

Honestly I wasn’t sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this film. It is encouraging, honest and thought provoking. Eva Piper has a lot to deal with when it comes to facing the news of her husband’s condition but even more so the long and arduous recuperation period that came after. As a wife I have to admit I gravitated toward how she was dealing with all the trauma. She is one strong lady.

Mr. Piper wasn’t so pleasant to deal with which was understandable once you knew that he had actually spent 90 minutes in heaven and the beauty and glory and fulfillment of everything he had ever preached was realized. He didn’t want to come back. His real recuperation started when he figured out that his coming back was to encourage the world that heaven is real.
