Happy New Year everyone!

I am going to let optimism reign supreme today.

I will not let 2016 be dictated by a nasty encounter with dog poo and an offensive scale!

Yeah, it didn’t get ushered in so well, but that is not how things are going to go.

Last time I introduced you to my theme for this year: Embrace Intentional Living.

Does anyone remember the movie Sister Act II with Whoopie Goldberg? There’s a song that she sings to the kids that goes, “If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you better wake up and pay attention!”

Without intention, forward progress will be next to impossible. It will be a little more like a meandering walk through the meadow. I’m done with meandering.

I want to have a plan and a purpose and I want to get somewhere.

On Mondays  I want to hang out here and talk about health and things like that. This is one of my big goals for this year.

I haven’t felt healthy for quite some time; emotionally, spiritually, relationally, physically and mentally. I decided that 2016 is going to be a year of moving forward on this front.

A dear friend jokes with me that you should always start a new diet on Mondays – so Mondays it is!  Though I’m not really starting a new diet, I’m making some SMART goals and have a friend who is helping me stay on track with those.

I’m talking to my doctor and we’re going to figure out what’s all going on underneath.

It’s going to take some crazy grace to make some of these changes because, hey, I like junk food as much as the next guy! And, I’m not particularly fond of exercise.

It’s getting late so there isn’t a cute graphic going on with this. I need to get to bed…something else I want to be intentional about, getting enough sleep!

See ya on the flip side! What about you, do you have some health goals you’re working toward?

About Lani

With six kids, a farm, a ministry and dreams poking out in every direction I need plenty of grace to keep all the balls in the air. The sweet thing is that when I drop them, that crazy grace of God is there telling me I'm still okay...and you are, too...welcome to this place of grace.

Girlfriend great minds think alike. Sounds exactly like what I would have written about my New Year and moving forward.
